Zambia Bound!
NESteam recently purchased a U-haul truck to send to the Training Centre in Mbala!
It may sound a little different, but, we believe it is good stewardship as the plan has been to send a container loaded with ministry supplies to open the new Mapalo Centre at the end of this year.
The "Blessings (Mapalo) Buggy" can be shipped for almost the same price as the container. When it arrives, it will have wheels! This will allow us to save transportation costs inland to Mbala.
What Will the Blessings Buggy Do?
- Facilitate transport of ministry supplies to Zambia.
- Provide local transportation for the rural located Centre.
- Be equipped as a ministry platform for village work, with a sound system and ability to do outreach and health programs!
- Eventually targeted to be fueled by bio-diesel, being produced on the Centre's farm.
- Be a step towards self sustained ministries
How will It Get to Zambia?
Blessings Buggy will make its way south from Beaverton to Houston, Texas (perhaps driven), then on a ship across to Durban, South Africa. In Durban it will be met by Lee, or another team from Zambia, where it will be driven up through Zimbabwe to Zambia. The Training Centre has status as a non-profit, and can import duty free. It will be cleared in Lusaka, then driven up to Mbala and Mpulungu.
Our Goals!
- To raise the $9,000 needed for shipping.
- To equip the truck for ministry! We need savvy people who know about low voltage wiring of the truck!
- Help in sorting, cataloging and packing for shipment.
- To acquire ministry supplies to be shipped! Still needed:
- A commercial grade wood planer.
- A commercial grade sewing machine
- Clothes making materials and tailoring supplies.
- Tools for Life Skills
- Laptop computers for Life Skills
